I do recall, that before I bought the replacement fixer unit, I removed and inspected the old one, and saw it to be burst, and it was after this that the jam error message began. It does come with a piece of literature to update firmware after install.Does this in some way reset something that could be causing what I'm experiencing? Sensors aren't firing, which the video inferred they would if there was any problem with the install. That new plastic heat smell.Every print now jams right before it heads the paper through the fixer.Everything seems to turn fine. I used a genuine brother fixing unit.The replacement was very easy, and it seems to have power. So the fixer roller split, causing patterns on prints.
